In our tool department we are ready to train tool makers and industrial technicians, here we have Mikkel, Kalle, Julie and Rasmus, who are all apprentices in the tool department, one reading for industrial technicians and three reading for tool making.

At Unika, we currently have 7 apprentices, divided into three studying to be a plastic maker, one studying to be an industrial technician and three to be a toolmaker, of which three are female and four are male.

We regularly present journeymen's certificates at Unika, and we are in the fortunate situation that we can keep most of them after graduation. The apprentices contribute to our innovation with their fresh eyes and new insights into daily life, so it is definitely an advantage that we have so many. They show that they want to improve their skills and are passionate about making a difference.

The fact that we have apprentices strengthens the company in terms of understanding of materials and processing, working with tools, CNC machines, robots, computer control and programming and helps us keep abreast of developments in our work areas. The apprentices in the tool department were asked where they see a difference between themselves and their classmates?

The industrial technician and toolmaker apprentices state that if they have to name an important difference between their classmates and themselves, it must be the many powers and opportunities they get in their work at Unika, including the many different things they are allowed to work on with. Organization is very "flat" and there is no doubt that it is permissible to go to the boss or the director.

It won't be long before several of our toolmaker and industrial technician apprentices are so advanced that they can call themselves journeymen, and then we need new ones who we can help on their way to an education with a future in it. The future consists of that the programs provide access to other higher education programs if there is interest.
