We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Minik from Upcycling Scandinavia and Rachele and Alberto Musso, owners of IBEBI. They were given a tour of our composite department, where they witnessed the manufacturing process of the attractive Aika chairs, which we will soon be sending to Italy (Aika is a Japanese girl's name meaning 'love song').
It was fascinating to see how excited our guests were about witnessing Unika's energy setup, featuring heat pumps and solar panels on the roofs, and, most importantly, how we produce the chairs they purchase from our Danish partner Upcycling Scandinavia.
That Upcycling Scandinavia is able to export chairs to Italy, a country that itself produces a huge number of chairs for the entire Europe, is truly significant. It's also proof that the interest in recycling and manufacturers' desire to reduce energy consumption have become 'hot topics'.
The Aika chair is made of 85% recycled plastic.
The advantage of being closer to our European neighbors is that such visits are possible without significantly harming the environment. We take pride in the fact that at Unika, we manufacture both tools and items ourselves, enabling us to have 'real' meetings and conduct business with our European customers without adding unnecessary overseas CO2 emissions to our accounts.
We believe that it makes a significant difference when customers can see and touch their products in real. It's also an opportunity for them to experience Denmark's delicious open-faced sandwiches or “Danish dark bread with toppings”. Our bread with fish fillet, shrimp, and egg was particularly popular and received great enthusiasm.
